چکیده

The reflection, transmission and absorbance spectra of silicon nanowire arrays (NWAs), as a function of the length of the nanowires, are investigated in a wavelength range of 15 mm , l , 200 mm, using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy in vacuum. The NWAs are fabricated using metal-assisted electroless chemical etching. The wire length is varied between 20 mm and 140 mm, which is of the same order of magnitude as the wavelength, and their spectra are compared to bulk Si. At high frequencies the absorbance spectra of the NWAs show molecular resonances due to adsorption of molecules involved in the fabrication process but also due to the oxide quality that wraps the nanowires and changes as a function of nanowire length. Transmission characteristics show an increasing shift in absorption band edge towards the far infrared for longer wires and a transition from specular to diffuse reflection at a nanowire length of approximately 60 mm.

Study the Effect of Silicon Nanowire Length on Characteristics of Silicon Nanowire Based Solar Cells by Using Impedance Spectroscopy

Silicon nanowire (SiNW) arrays were produced by electroless method on polycrystalline Si substrate, in HF/ AgNO3 solution. Although the monocrystalline silicon wafer is commonly utilized as a perfect substrate, polycrystalline silicon as a low cost substrate was used in this work for photovoltaic applications. In order to study the influence of etching time (which affects the SiNWs length) on d...

Multispectral absorptance from large-diameter InAsSb nanowire arrays in a single epitaxial growth on silicon

Vertical III-V nanowires are capable of resonant absorption at specificwavelengths by tuning the nanowire diameter, thereby exceeding the absorption of equivalent thinfilms. These propertiesmay be exploited to fabricatemultispectral infrared (IR) photodetectors, directly integratedwith Si, without the need for spectral filters or vertical stacking of heterostructures as required in thinfilm dev...

Optical properties of crystalline-amorphous core-shell silicon nanowires.

The optical absorption in a nanowire heterostructure consisting of a crystalline silicon core surrounded by a conformal shell of amorphous silicon is studied. We show that they exhibit extremely high absorption of 95% at short wavelengths (λ < 550 nm) and a concomitant very low absorption of down to less than 2% at long wavelengths (λ > 780 nm). These results indicate that our nanowires do not ...

NANO EXPRESS Hierarchical Cd4SiS6/SiO2 Heterostructure Nanowire Arrays

Novel hierarchical Cd4SiS6/SiO2 based heterostructure nanowire arrays were fabricated on silicon substrates by a one-step thermal evaporation of CdS powder. The as-grown products were characterized using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy. Studies reveal that a typical hierarchical Cd4SiS6/SiO2 heterostructure nanowire is composed of a single c...

Comparative study of absorption in tilted silicon nanowire arrays for photovoltaics

Silicon nanowire arrays have been shown to demonstrate light trapping properties and promising potential for next-generation photovoltaics. In this paper, we show that the absorption enhancement in vertical nanowire arrays on a perfectly electric conductor can be further improved through tilting. Vertical nanowire arrays have a 66.2% improvement in ultimate efficiency over an ideal double-pass ...
